パリを拠点に活動。
アルゼンチンのブエノスアイレスで Sofia Sanchez 氏に出逢い、写真家としての活動を始め、2 人でフォト・ デュオを結成。パリに拠点を移してのち、彼らのデュオは若手写真家に贈られる Pict 賞を 2002 年受賞、 パリで初の個展となる Le Palais de Tokyo を開催。 Sofia、マウロ両氏の作品群はエレガントかつモダンなスタイルでファッションと肖像画の両方を端的に 表現している。両氏は数多くの国際ジャーナルに取り上げられる。

Mauro Mongiello is a photographer based in Based in Paris. He started working when he met Sofia Sanchez in Buenos Aires, Argentina and decided to form a photographic duo. After moving to Paris they won the Picto prize for young fashion photographers in 2002 and held their first exhibition at Le Palais de Tokyo in Paris.Sofia & Mauro’ s imagery showcases an ability to shoot both fashion and portraiture in a elegant and modern style. They have been been published in a number of international publications, amongst them the New York Times, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, Numéro, Flair, Russian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, L’ Uomo Vogue, Italian Vogue , Vanity Fair ...

They recently shot the latest Air France campaign, which adds to their previous campaigns for Armani, Lanvin , Bergdorf Goodman and Anna Sui, among others.
Mauro Mongiello keeps shooting images on the side of the fashion and portrait work that he achieves in his photographic duo , giving him the freedom to express his vision on more personal topics.
