Exposure+ Photoについて
Exposure+ Photoは、マレーシアの写真家を発掘し、、より多くの人々や写真コミュニティとの関わりを深めるために、2～3週間に渡り、一般公開し、作家の知名度の向上を目指します、プロモーションを主な目的としています。このプログラムは、新進気鋭のアーティストを対象としており、一連の公募と選考を通じて、レンズを使ったメディアを活用した、効果的なプロジェクトや人間に関するストーリーを伝えています。
Exposure+ Photoは、2020年にNadirah ZakariyaとSteven LeeによってKL20X20として設立され、その後2022年にExposure+ Photoフェスティバルがクアラルンプールで初開催されました。現在、2023年の第2回目の開催を計画中で、プログラムとフォーマットは同様ですが、今後発展していきます。
2023年には、KLPAが14回の開催を最後に休止するため、KLPAとExposure+ Photoが1つのイベントとして統合される予定です。Exposure+ Photoは、クアラルンプールを拠点とする地域の主要な写真フェスティバルとして世界的に認知されるよう、KLPAと同様のフォーマットで、海外の写真家やマレーシアのアーティストを対象としたオープンコール・プログラムを実施する予定です。
About Exposure+ Photo
Exposure+ Photo is a city-wide photography festival with a core mission to discover and promote Malaysian photographers foremost by providing a platform for public exhibition, increase visibility, and greater engagement with the wider public and photography communities over a 2 - 3 week period. Through a series of open calls and selections, the program is catered towards new and emerging artists who are utilising lens-based medium to create and tell effective projects and stories about the human condition.
Exposure+ Photo was founded by Nadirah Zakariya and Steven Lee as KL20X20 in 2020, and subsequently in 2022 Exposure+ Photo festival had its first staging in Kuala Lumpur. We are now planning our 2nd instalment for 2023 with a similar but expanded program and format.
2023 will see the merging of KLPA with Exposure+ Photo as one event, as KLPA will be on hiatus after 14 instalments. Exposure+ Photo 2023 will see an Open Call program for international photographers as well as Malaysian artists, run on a similar format to KLPA as we expand our reach globally to establish Exposure+ Photo as a major regional photography festival based in Kuala Lumpur.

屋久島とマレーシアにおける山岳信仰をテーマに、畏怖を持って祈る存在である人間を捉えた作品を上映します。
また、会場にはYPF FOUND PHOTO アーカイブスプロジェクトより、屋久島・湯泊区における古写真を展示します。
The theme of the festival is mountain worship on Yakushima Island & Malaysia , and we will be showing works that capture the awe-inspiring presence of human beings in prayer.
In addition, old photographs from the YPF FOUND PHOTO Archives Project will be exhibited at the venue.

地元のガイドが魅せられた屋久島を、映像と共に雪苔屋で美味しく優しいおやつとコーヒーを楽しみながらご覧ください。
Slide show by YAKUSHIMA FILM, a group of local guides from Yakushima who love photography and who use the power of photography and video to communicate the charms of the island.
Please come and see the Yakushima Island that fascinated the local guides, along with the images, while enjoying delicious and gentle snacks and coffee at YUKIGOKEYA.

Overlooking the Setouchi inland sea, our gallery is located in Matogata.
In parallel to our core Artist-in-residence* program, we hold a succession of exhibitions featuring both Japanese and international artists. Open all year long, we also present in our shop a selection of art pieces and manufactured products.
By inspiring the artists themselves, and by continuing to work with them, M1997 aims to become a place for the transmission of new culture in Japan.

HOKKAIDO PHOTO FESTAは北海道での写真作家の育成と集う場を作ろうと言うことで、有志が集まり2018年に初めての開催を迎えました。2020年はコロナ禍のために開催は見送られ、昨年もまだコロナ禍の影響が残っていましたので、オンラインを中心に規模を小さくして開催いたしました。そのような経緯のもと、今年は久々のフルサイズでの開催となります。また今回は初めて屋久島国際写真祭との連携などもあり、充実した内容となっております。
振り返ってみますと、イベント内容としては当初からの著名なキュレーターや写真家によるポートフォリオレビューやレクチャーの他、昨年よりオンラインのイベントが加わりました。この事により広く参加者を募ることができ、イベントとしての幅を広げることができたと考えております。
写真家の育成という意味では、ポートフォリオレビューを重点施策と考えています。毎回、東京都写真美術館学芸員の関次和子さんをはじめ、写真家の百々俊二さん、写真評論家のタカザワケンジさんをはじめ5名から6名のレビュアーで臨んでおります。毎回このレビューではレビュアーの互選によりグランプリ賞を設けており、第1回と第2回のポートフォリオレビーではグランプリ受賞者には副賞としてCasePublishingからの写真集制作が授与されました。またグランプリ受賞者の作品展のほかファイナリストのselection展も開催されます。
このようなこともあり、地元北海道をはじめ全国からも多数の参加者を迎え、地方で開催するイベントではありますが、写真を通して刺激し合い、化学反応が生まれ、新しい価値を作れる下地ができつつあると手応えを感じております。
次回からはビエンナーレの予定ですが、毎回、本祭の他に毎月開催しておりますタカザワケンジワークショップは、来年以降も開催し、写真家を目指す皆様の一助となればと考えております。
HOKKAIDO PHOTO FESTA 代表 大橋 英児
HOKKAIDO PHOTO FESTA was first held in 2018 by a group of volunteers to create a place for photographers in Hokkaido to gather and develop their skills. The event was held on a smaller scale, focusing mainly on online events. This year's event will be the first time in a long time to hold a full-size event. This year, for the first time, we will be collaborating with the Yakushima Photography Festival, making this year's event a very fulfilling one.
Looking back, the event will include portfolio reviews and lectures by renowned curators and photographers, as well as the addition of an online event from last year. We believe that this has allowed us to broaden the scope of the event by inviting a wider range of participants.
In terms of nurturing photographers, we consider portfolio reviews to be a priority. Each time we have five to six reviewers, including Kazuko Sekitsugu, curator of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Shunji Dodo, photographer, and Kenji Takazawa, photography critic. In the first and second portfolio reviews, the grand prize winner received an additional prize of a photo book from Case Publishing. In addition to an exhibition of the Grand Prix winners' works, a selection exhibition of the finalists will also be held.
Although it is a regional event, we feel that the groundwork is being laid for the creation of new value by stimulating each other through photography and creating chemical reactions.
We are planning to hold the Biennale next time, but we will continue to hold the Kenji Takazawa Workshop every month in addition to the main festival, in the hope that it will help aspiring photographers in the years to come.

「写真と道具」を真摯に考えるメーカーとして写真と道具、表現と技術の関わりを問い続け、「アーティストのための撮影機材」をテーマに、ユニークでコンセプチュアルなカメラやレンズを手がけてきたSIGMAが、ものづくりと同様に大切にしていること。それは「芸術としての写真の素晴らしさ、豊かさ」に直に触れる機会をつくること。そして「写真に取り組むこれからの才能」に活躍の機会を提供することです。今年はその観点から撮影機材メーカーとして一歩踏み込み、「見る」と「撮る」をつなぐ、写真の道具としての可能性を探るべく第四回屋久島国際写真祭 (YPF) に参加します。それによって才能と情熱にあふれ、真摯に写真に取り組むアーティストを支援することは、SIGMAにとっても大きな喜びです。

SIGMA constantly re-evaluates the relationship between gear and photography, between technology and expression. As devoted creators of unique, high-quality cameras and lenses, we take the manufacture of our products seriously. However, we understand it as equally important to share the richness and beauty of photography as an art-form, and to provide a stage to upcoming photography talents.
Through our cooperation with YAKUSHIMA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL this year, we go one step further in our role as a photographic gear manufacturer to develop and explore the possibilities of photography.It is an immense pleasure for SIGMA directly to support talented, passionate artists who challenge the boundaries of photography.
