「これからのアーティスト」を支援するために

​

「写真と道具」を真摯に考えるメーカーとして写真と道具、表現と技術の関わりを問い続け、「アーティストのための撮影機材」をテーマに、ユニークでコンセプチュアルなカメラやレンズを手がけてきたSIGMAが、ものづくりと同様に大切にしていること。それは「芸術としての写真の素晴らしさ、豊かさ」に直に触れる機会をつくること。そして「写真に取り組むこれからの才能」に活躍の機会を提供することです。今年はその観点から撮影機材メーカーとして一歩踏み込み、「見る」と「撮る」をつなぐ、写真の道具としての可能性を探るべく第四回屋久島国際写真祭 (YPF) に参加します。それによって才能と情熱にあふれ、真摯に写真に取り組むアーティストを支援することは、SIGMAにとっても大きな喜びです。

 

 

 

Supporting emerging artists

 

SIGMA constantly re-evaluates the relationship between gear and photography, between technology and expression. As devoted creators of unique, high-quality cameras and lenses, we take the manufacture of our products seriously. However, we understand it as equally important to share the richness and beauty of photography as an art-form, and to provide a stage to upcoming photography talents.

Through our cooperation with YAKUSHIMA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL this year, we go one step further in our role as a photographic gear manufacturer to develop and explore the possibilities of photography.It is an immense pleasure for SIGMA directly to support talented, passionate artists who challenge the boundaries of photography.
